Ambassador Mark

Two days after graduating high school, and one day after his graduation party, Mark started classes during the summer at Wright College.  His mother was determined to get him into college. She would always say “Mark is good with his hands”; little did she know that he had a special talent with computers.  Without having to study or take notes, he consistently received “A’s” in all his computer courses; just don’t ask him about the others.

Working full time and going to college, it seemed like his 15-year college education adventure would never end, however he never gave up and when it was over, he received two Associate degrees with honors from Wright College; one in Data Processing and the other in Electronics, along with a Bachelor of Arts in general studies and a Master of Science in computer science from Roosevelt University.

Mark started his career as a Terminal Operator and worked his way up to become a Financial Aid Advisor. After 10 years at Wright College, his career led to him to the most diverse college in the nation where he accepted a position as an Assistant Director advancing to the Director of Financial Aid at Truman College.  Later Mark was promoted to Associate Dean of Student Services, where he was in charge of the Admissions, Advising, and Assessment Centers.  He was proud to call them his ‘A’ departments.

As a top administrator, Mark was responsible for creating and coordinating Truman’s largest and most memorable events.  He managed to bring the Midwest Computer Show to Truman College where more than 100 vendors would sell everything electronic from cables to computers.  He helped organize the annual Resource Fair where over 100 organizations representing different city and state services as well as various health organizations are represented.  He is probably most famous for his open houses where he attracted over 1,500 high school seniors to tour the college.  A feat that was achieved by critical thinking, problem solving, inspired ingenuity, and strong organizational skills which earned him the Outstanding Administrator of the Year Award.  This award has been given to only 5 people in the last 20 years.

Mark thoroughly enjoyed working with the students, directing, advising and navigating them from admission to graduation; a talent that came naturally.  He loved the job because he knew he was making a difference in people’s lives.  However, after a 32-year career with the City Colleges of Chicago, he decided that he needed to retire due to a herniated disk in his back.

Mark took a look at different industries to determine where he could take his computer knowledge and strong abilities as a facilitator, negotiator, and problem solver, and apply them to a new position taking his career to another level.  Reminiscing about the doll houses his father would make in their garage, and remembering how much he appreciated the different architectural features, he decided to become a real estate Broker.

Mark recognizes that purchasing or selling a home is one of the largest investments a person, a couple, or a family can make in their lifetime. It’s a process you don’t go through on a regular basis which makes it more challenging to navigate. Unlike other purchases, buying or selling a home requires expert analysis and direction.

There are a lot of dynamics that go into the purchase or sale of a property, including financing, marketing, appraisals, zoning, title searches, surveys, and home inspections. You need to be working with someone who will give you personal attention. And wouldn’t it be nice to know that you’re working with someone who has your best interest at heart?

A Broker like Mark learns to wear a lot of hats. With his strong organizational and problem solving skills, he will be there to ensure that his buyers and sellers make a good investment and achieve their personal goals and objectives. Isn’t it good to know that Mark has the expertise to assist you with getting the job done?

With his ability to successfully guide thousands of students to realize their personal, academic, and career goals, as well as his love for architecture, he now helps to navigate his real estate customers through the selling and purchasing process so they can realize their goals. Don’t be left wandering around in the wrong direction, let Mark guide you through from beginning to end.  Call him today to see how he can help you meet your goals.
